Practical reward design patterns
Pattern 1: Fast motivation + long goal
Use a mix like:
- 8 to 15 star quick rewards
- 30 to 60 star weekly rewards
- 100+ star milestone rewards
Pattern 2: Balance by category
Create at least one option in multiple categories so children can choose based on preference:
- one Treats reward
- one Activities reward
- one Privileges reward
Pattern 3: Use cooldowns to avoid burnout
- apply cooldown to highly requested rewards
- keep no-cooldown for harmless routine rewards
Plan-aware reward limits
The number of rewards you can create depends on plan limits.
- free plan default: up to 20 rewards
- higher plans can increase this limit
When the limit is reached, existing rewards still work and can be edited.
